With the 2023 reporting year coming to a close and the pending retirement of the NATA Professional Development Center (PDC), here are some reminders to help you get organized and stay on track before the end of the year.
Earn Your Needed CEUs
In 2023, athletic trainers certified in 2021 and prior need to report 50 CEUs to the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer by Dec. 31, while ATs certified in 2022 need 25 CEUs.
Use Your Free CE Credits
Members who renewed or joined NATA in 2023 received 10 free CE credits (a $150 value) with their membership to use in the PDC. All unused CE credits will expire and be removed from users’ accounts at 11:59 p.m. CST Dec. 31.
Unexpired purchased courses that haven’t been completed will be moved to the new NATA EducATe and will be available to users once the platform launches at the beginning of 2024. Users will then have access to them for at least a full year from the date of purchase.
Collect Your 2022, 2023 Statements of Credit
Through 11:59 p.m. CST Dec. 31, PDC users can access their Statements of Credit for all courses completed in the system. Users can find them under the “Completed Courses” tab of the PDC account dashboard.
Also, this fall, NATA launched the Statements of Credit Portal to make it easier to access Statements of Credit from NATA’s various 2022 and 2023 educational events, including in-person and on-demand conventions. Once logged in, users will be able to print their proof of attendance for each session they attended.
Save Your Past Statements of Credit
Along with migrating users’ uncompleted purchased courses, NATA will also move all Statements of Credit from the past six years to the new NATA EducATe. Starting in early 2024, users will be able to find their Statements of Credit from 2018 onward in the “My Transcript” section of NATA EducATe.
If users have Statements of Credits prior to 2018 that they would like to save for their own records, they will need to download them from the PDC prior to the end of 2023. The PDC will close forever at 11:59 p.m. CST Dec. 31, at which point content will migrate to NATA EducATe and Statements of Credit older than six years will not be readily available to users.
