Despite feeling slightly exhausted, we at the NATA national office returned to Texas still motivated from such a successful week in Indianapolis! We've especially enjoyed reliving some of the convention's most special moments through photos, videos and attendees’ posts on social media. On Saturday, we chatted with athletic trainers on the trade show floor about their favorite part of their #NATA2014 experience. Here’s what they had to say:
“Overall, the learning labs were probably my favorite part of the convention!”
-- John Walters, ATC, the University of Akron, Ohio
“The J&J keynote speaker [former NASA astronaut and Navy combat pilot, Cpt. Mark Kelly] was amazing! And my favorite part of the trade show was the HydroWorx pool. I love it! Of course, it’s very expensive but I think it would be very beneficial for therapy.”
-- Abbie Golmon, ATC, Louisiana State University at Alexandria, Louisiana
“My favorite part of the convention was probably seeing the tactical management for ATs and having it out there that tactical management doesn’t necessarily mean going into war – it could be a home/school situation.”
-- Susanne Bell, MS, ATC, PRORehab, Bowling Green, Kentucky
“Seeing all the products that are out right now; the HydroWorx therapy & exercise pool is something we’re looking into.”
-- Tyler Antonacci, MAE, ATC, LAT, King University, Bristol, Tennessee
“Another Game Ready® or more parts to our Game Ready® would be great! I’ve also enjoyed my classes! I really enjoyed networking and meeting new people.”
-- Tameka Donaldson, ATC, the University of Tennessee at Martin, Tennessee
“There is nothing this big in Japan; I couldn’t get all the way through in one day. The Learning Labs were great. Every year, more Japanese are getting certified!”
-- Toshi Ishizuka, MS, ATC, CSCS, Japan Core Conditioning Association, Kawasaki, Japan
“The Gatorade booth with the protein bars was amazing!”
-- Haylee Mercer, MA, ATC, LAT, Coe College, Mount Vernon, Iowa
“My favorite part of the trade show was trying out the one-legged crutch at the expo and the lab on semi-rigid splinting of the MCP joint”
-- Nicole Trumpold, ATC, Unity Point – St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa
“My favorite part of the week was the samples and the Manual Therapies Learning Lab.”
Lisa Kunzman, ATC, Century High School, Orange, California
“I’d have to say responding to mass casualty events. The lecture was really eye-opening.”
-- Cherisse Hernandez, ATC, Santa Ana High School, Fullerton, California
