75 Things To Know About Convention, Five Ways to Connect with Leadership

The 75th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo, June 25-28 in New Orleans, is approaching – and registration is open. As athletic trainers look forward to this iconic annual event in AT history, NATA Now is highlighting “75 Things To Know About Convention.”

At convention this year, attendees will get to celebrate milestones with NATA’s leadership as well as network with their respective district leaders.

“The NATA convention is a great in-person opportunity for members to meet and network with leaders of all levels, be it state, district or national,” said NATA President Kathy Dieringer, EdD, LAT, ATC. “Moreso, as we gather to celebrate the 75th convention this year, now is a great time to recognize the efforts of our past leaders who have helped advance the profession. You won’t want to miss out on the various events designed to help you connect to these current and past leaders.”

Here are five ways to connect with leaders at convention this year. For more information and to register for NATA 2024, visit the NATA convention website.

1. Celebrate the NATA Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Join us as we honor the NATA Hall of Fame Class of 2024 during the induction ceremony from 1 to 2 p.m. June 26. The NATA Hall of Fame is the pinnacle of recognition for members, honoring a select group of athletic trainers who have shaped the athletic training profession and exemplified what it means to live a life of service. You can learn more about this year’s inductees in the May NATA News and NATA Now.

2. Interact With the NATA Board of Directors During Face Time ’24

Taking place 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 27, Face Time ’24 is your opportunity to connect with NATA’s leadership. The NATA Board of Directors will be on hand to answer questions from members and provide insight into the state of the association and profession.

3. Connect With Your District Leaders

Attend your District Meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 25 at the Morial Convention Center to connect at a local level with district peers and receive updates from district leadership before heading out to enjoy the city.

“It’s about connecting people in a smaller, more personal level before the full convention gets underway,” NATA Director of Meeting Management Lori Marker said.

4. Network at Town Halls

NATA 2024 will feature nine town halls. Town halls are a great way to connect with various committee leaders and peers. Attendees will receive updates about the committees’ projects and achievements as well as have the opportunity to network with ATs in their setting or who share their professional interests.

5. Attend the Inauguration of NATA’s 16th President

NATA President-Elect A.J. Duffy III, MS, ATC, PT, will be inaugurated during the Daily Opening Session from 8 to 8:45 a.m. June 28. Make plans to attend this event as Dieringer passes the baton to NATA’s 16th president.
