With the 74th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo taking place June 21-24 in Indianapolis, now is a great time to create your schedule and plan of action. While you can use the NATA convention website to determine which sessions you want to attend, don’t forget to add places to eat and things to do to your itinerary.

In this blog post, NATA Convention Host City AT Ralph Reiff, MEd, ATC, LAT, shares his favorite places to eat and visit in Indy.
“I have lived in Indianapolis since 1981, and my wife and I have been downtown Indianapolis residents for the past six years,” Reiff said. “Indy is easy to navigate by foot and many food/bars and museums are a walk or short transport away from the convention area.”

Mass Avenue, in the northeast sector of downtown, is vibrant with sidewalk crowds, plenty of food and drink choices as well as the new Bottleworks District. Within the Bottleworks area is PINS Mechanical Co. This is a large space with pinball machines, bowling and lots or gathering spaces. Drinks are available in PINS, but they do not serve food; however, next to PINS is The Garage, a multi-cultural food venue.
Mass Avenue is a good way to spend an afternoon or evening for your families (shoppers). Plenty of shops, and you can finish with a meet-up at my favorite Indianapolis restaurant, Union 50.
Mass Avenue is the cultural and fun street of Indianapolis.
The best tenderloin sandwich in Indiana is at The Workingman’s Friend, just south of Lucas Oil Stadium. This is a great place for lunch and is a casual place to pull tables together for a group.
A top restaurant is Bluebeard, near Fountain Square, a fun neighborhood just south and east of the convention area.
Indy is really “top shelf” when you are looking for a museum, From the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and Dallara Factory in Speedway to the world-class Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Downtown museums include the Indiana State Museum and the Eiteljorg.
