ATEJ Accepting Manuscripts on Clinical Immersion

June 21, 2024 by Todd Christman

The Athletic Training Education Journal invites authors to submit manuscripts for a special series regarding clinical immersion in athletic training.

The series will provide athletic training clinicians, educators, preceptors and scholars with contemporary evidence about delivering clinical immersive experiences for students in athletic training programs. Experiential learning is an integral part of learning for the athletic training student, as it provides real-world experiences that cultivate in-the-moment learning. For this special issue we are seeking a variety of manuscript types to help advance the knowledge around clinical immersion to ensure high-quality learning experiences for the student. Specifically, we hope that readers will gain insight into curriculum planning around the design and structure of clinical immersion experiences.

Specifically, we seek original research, educational technique, and systematic review manuscripts addressing clinical immersion. Educational technique manuscripts addressing the CAATE curricular content standards, preceptor development/support, and student perspectives are encouraged. The Journal welcomes submissions from diverse writing teams across professions and institutions.

All papers being considered for publication would need to be submitted by June 30, with a cover letter indicating the title and specific reference to the special issue on “Clinical Immersion Practices.”

All authors are encouraged to review the Authors’ Guide for instructions on preparing manuscripts. All submissions will undergo the normal Athletic Training Education Journal peer-review process. Acceptance of clinical immersion manuscripts is not guaranteed.
