The Executive Committee for Education has started a series of webinars to answer questions members raised regarding the degree transition. Here is the first video:
Degree Transition Considerations and Programmatic Self-Assessment
Lesson One serves to provide Athletic Trainers, specifically AT Educators, with a framework to further understand and investigate the newly announced CAATE requirement that athletic training education must be offered as a graduate-level degree. The module presents a comprehensive check list of questions and considerations that should be included when examining a potential transition. In addition to outlining the comprehensive nature of the process, the module uses a SWOT method to assist Program Administrators in evaluating their current program and in identifying potential challenges and opportunities presented by offering the program at the graduate-level. The SWOT analysis is presented as 2 case studies of successful Graduate-level Professional programs, one well-established and one newly transitioned program. The goal of the module is to provide more information and a method to determine the best course of action for a program’s future.
