Meeting Planning Session: 10 Tips to Navigate the Economic Slump If you are puzzled by the latest unpredicted challenges surfacing as you produce your meeting, join us for this session covering current meeting trends. We’ll cover 10 important tips including “How can I negotiate a more flexible contract in these uncertain times?”; “Is there anything I can do to modify an already negotiated contract?”…and more! We’ll have time for your specific questions as well! Speaker Kathleen Olson, President of Global Reservations Inc (GRI) in Irving, Texas, is a respected industry leader in the meeting planning and computerized housing industry. She has 35+ years of experience in meeting planning, hotel sales and hotel housing bureau services. She has been recognized in national publications as a leader and positive influence in the meeting and housing industry.
 
WORKSHOP FOR ALL ATHLETIC TRAINERS INTERESTED IN HELPING THEIR ATHLETES AND CLIENTS (FROM CHILDREN TO ADULTS) TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY, IDEAL BODY WEIGHT
Workshop Objectives:
  • Help ATCs understand the science behind classifying adolescents and adults as normal, at risk, or overweight.

  • Ensure that ATC’s are proficient with the various body fat and hydration measuring techniques and equipment.

  • Ensure ATC’s are proficient with entering assessment data into the Optimal Performance Calculator (OPC).

  • Make sure ATCs are proficient with the functionality of the OPC and integrated nutrition program.

  • Teach ATC’s how to utilize the OPC for assisting athletes with maximizing performance through proven weight management and sport nutrition practices.
Intended Audience:
  • Athletic Trainers who work with athletes in all sports. The OPC can help each athlete identify and maintain an ideal competition weight.

  • Athletic Trainers that teach in the health, physical education, or consumer family health departments (to help children combat childhood obesity).

  • Athletic Trainers working in the fitness industry with adults.

Seminar Objectives:
  • Designed to provide participants with a 7-hour seminar on topics related to the development, implementation, instruction, management and evaluation of clinical instruction within a CAATE-accredited athletic training educational program.

  • Provide an open forum for the sharing and discussion of clinical education philosophies, strategies, and best practices among seminar participants
Upon completion of this seminar, you will be able to:

  • Discuss the elements of an effective clinical education program

  • Incorporate CAATE Standards for clinical education

  • Provide a format for initial and continuing ACI training

  • Seminar Handbook:

    Registrants for the Clinical Instructor Educator Seminar will receive a seminar resource handbook by mail prior to the event date. To maximize your experience, we recommend that you read this material prior to attending the seminar. Please ensure your mailing address is valid after May 1.

    Registration Fee: $175 thru April 30, $195 after April 30.

    Cancellation Policy: Full refund if request received by 5 p.m. CT on June 3. No refunds after this time. Refund request must be sent in writing (meetings@nata.org if by email) to the NATA office and will be processed no later than eight weeks after the last day of the meeting. No refunds will be made on-site. Refunds will be issued in the same way as the payment received. Failure to have 16 registrants by June 5, 2009 will result in cancellation of the seminar.
